Delhi Police honours 16 students for developing technology-based solutions

Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar presented certificates of appreciation and souvenirs to the students at a felicitation ceremony held at the Police Headquarters.The two-month internship programme was aimed at bringing students and academic institutions closer to the police force while allowing young innovators to work on practical challenges faced by the department. The programme began on June 8 and received more than 400 applications from students enrolled in universities and technical institutions. Delhi Police's tweet. STUDENTS WORK ON FOUR TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONSFollowing the selection process, 16 students from institutions, including IIT Delhi, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Jamia Hamdard and Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, among others, were selected for the programme, as reported by NDTV.During the internship, the students worked under the mentorship of officers from the Delhi Police Tech and Project Implementation Division. The programme allowed them to understand policing requirements first-hand and apply their technical knowledge to challenges faced by the department in its day-to-day functioning. The report further states that the interns developed four functional technology solutions during the programme. The projects focused on areas including improving administrative work, streamlining internal processes and strengthening citizen services.According to the Delhi Police, the solutions were also aimed at supporting its ongoing digital transformation efforts and building more technology-driven and citizen-centric policing systems.DELHI POLICE ON STUDENT INNOVATORS The Delhi Police highlighted the students' innovation, dedication and technical excellence at the felicitation ceremony.
