Delhi man works remotely from Goa, reveals what Rs 30,000 a month gets him

Ajay Sharma, who recently moved to the state for a few months while continuing his corporate job remotely, has offered a glimpse into the reality of that lifestyle.In an Instagram video, Sharma breaks down his monthly spending, covering everything from the roof over his head to the scooter that gets him around.His biggest expense is rent. Sharma lives in a three-bedroom house with a housemate and pays Rs 15,000 for his share. He has his own bedroom, while the kitchen and living room are shared.Food takes up another Rs 6,000 a month, based on his initial grocery spending of around Rs 1,500 a week. Sharma notes that groceries in Goa are somewhat more expensive than what he was used to in Delhi and Manali. Then there is getting around. Sharma says a scooter is practically essential for navigating Goa and managed to rent one for Rs 4,500 a month during the off-season. Since he shares it with his housemate, his portion comes to Rs 2,250. He spends another Rs 1,200 or so on fuel every month.His other regular expense is fitness. A membership at a local gym costs him Rs 2,000 a month. That leaves around Rs 5,000 for miscellaneous expenses, which Sharma estimates at approximately Rs 1,200 a week. Add it all up, and his monthly spending comes to roughly Rs 30,000.Watch the video:The video has caught the attention of Instagram users, many of whom found the figure surprisingly manageable for life in Goa.Of course, Sharma's calculation is specific to his lifestyle, sharing accommodation and a scooter, while keeping other expenses relatively controlled.
