Delhi man, 54, stabs wife to death with scissors, police launch manhunt

A man allegedly stabbed his wife in the neck with scissors at their Jagatpuri home before fleeing, police said. The case was registered on their son's statement as multiple teams searched for the absconding accused and awaited the post-mortem report.The accused allegedly attacked his wife by stabbing her in the neck with a pair of scissors before escaping.A 54-year-old man allegedly stabbed his 50-year-old wife to death with a pair of scissors at their residence in East Delhi's Jagatpuri area on Wednesday night before fleeing the scene, police said.The incident came to light after a PCR call reporting the murder was received at Jagatpuri police station at around 9 pm on July 30. Acting on the information, the Station House Officer (SHO), the investigating officer and other police personnel rushed to the spot and found the woman lying dead on the floor.The deceased was identified as Komal (50), wife of Kamal (54). According to preliminary information, the accused allegedly attacked his wife by stabbing her in the neck with a pair of scissors before escaping.POLICE START INVESTIGATIONA crime team inspected the scene and collected evidence. The body was shifted to Dr Hedgewar Hospital, where doctors declared the woman dead. It was later sent to the Guru Teg Bahadur (GTB) Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. Police registered an FIR after recording the statement of the couple's son, Gaurav, at Jagatpuri police station. The case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deals with the offence of murder.Investigators have launched a search operation to trace the accused, who remains absconding. Police said multiple teams are working to locate him and ascertain the circumstances that led to the alleged killing. Officials said further investigation is underway, and the exact motive behind the murder is yet to be established.
