Delhi CNG pump staff killed in blast after truck carrying gas cylinders catches fire

One person was killed, and five others were critically injured after a truck carrying gas cylinders caught fire following a blast at a CNG station in West Delhi’s Tikri Kalan area on Wednesday.According to police, the explosion occurred while CNG was being refilled at the pump. The person who died was reportedly engaged in refuelling the vehicle when the blast took place.The incident was reported to authorities at around 3:46 pm on Wednesday, following which emergency services rushed to the spot. Firefighters were deployed to control the blaze and prevent the fire from spreading further.Police said five people sustained serious injuries in the incident and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Their condition was reported to be critical. The exact cause of the blast is yet to be ascertained. Officials are examining the circumstances surrounding the incident, including the refuelling process and the truck carrying the cylinders.Senior police officers and firefighting personnel remained at the scene as rescue and safety operations continued.
