Hearing him mention the location made Tushar uneasy, as he briefly wondered whether the driver was sharing information about their journey with someone else. The driver noticed that Tushar appeared uncomfortable and started a conversation with him. The two began chatting, with the driver speaking in English while he responded in Hindi. Their conversation continued for around 10 minutes before Tushar finally asked the driver who he had been speaking to on the phone. That was when the driver revealed that there had been no phone conversation at all. He had been using ChatGPT to practise speaking English. The driver also shared the reason he had been putting in the effort. He had recently become a father and wanted to learn English so that he could eventually teach his daughter as she grew up.The revelation changed the entire mood of the journey for Tushar. What had initially made him nervous had turned into a glimpse of a father quietly trying to improve his own skills with the resources available to him.Reflecting on the encounter, Tushar said the driver was not simply learning English but trying to create a better starting point in life for his daughter. He also pointed to the accessibility of AI tools, noting that the driver did not need a coaching class or a traditional gatekeeper to begin learning.Take a look at the post here:The post prompted LinkedIn users to focus on the wider possibilities of AI, particularly how tools such as ChatGPT could put learning resources within reach of people from very different backgrounds.Several users said the driver's story showed how curiosity and determination could make technology useful regardless of someone's starting point.Others argued that AI's most significant impact could extend beyond automation and job displacement, giving ordinary people access to tools that were previously difficult or expensive to access. One commenter said the story made the discussion around AI more human, suggesting that the bigger question was not only what the technology could do but also who could access it and what they chose to do with that access.- EndsPublished By: Yashna TalwarPublished On: Aug 13, 2026 19:23 IST
