Dorairaj, told The Hindu on Thursday (October 29) that several companies in Coimbatore will disburse bonuses next week. With the festival coming in the first week of a month this year, people are likely to start purchases after getting the monthly salary and the festival bonus. Further, business at the small retail shops will go up in the last few days before the festival.Though gold and silver prices saw a decline recently, jewellery retailers are yet to see business picking up. “We were hoping for better sales as the prices fell. But, consumers are waiting for further fall in prices,” said B.
