Deepavali holiday on November 9 in Puducherry

Kumar A holiday has been declared to all government offices, including public sector undertakings, boards, educational and banking institutions in Puducherry on account of Deepavali on November 9, 2026.The holiday declared under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881, will be applicable to professional colleges and co-operative banks also, an order issued by the Lieutenant Governor said.The order further said November 21 would be a compensatory working day in lieu of the holiday for Deepavali in the Union Territory.
