Dee-Dee sets Maddox on fire in terrifying and deadly Hollyoaks twist

| Deputy Soaps Editor Published October 22, 2026 11:59pm Things take a grim turn for Dee Dee and Maddox (Picture: Lime Pictures) Halloween brings more devastation and chaos to Hollyoaks, with Dee Dee Hutchinson (Chloe Atkinson) setting ex Maddox Keane (Sam Meyer) on fire in horror scenes. Dee Dee, as viewers know, has been targeted by teacher Abigail Matthews (Brooke Vincent), who has been grooming her. One of the first things Abigail did was drive a wedge between Dee Dee and boyfriend Maddox, who was at the time struggling to come to terms with the fact that Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) is his biological mother. The former flames have been at odds ever since, with Dee Dee now well and truly in the grip of Abigail. Next week, she spends time with the sinister teacher but she’s caught sneaking back to the flat, which leads her loved ones to discover that she’s been drinking. As a punishment, Tony (Nick Pickard) bans her from her own 16th birthday party. On the day of the party, however, he reconsiders after playing a message for Dee Dee, Ant (Brook Debio) and Ro (Leo Cole) recorded by their late mum Diane (Alex Fletcher) prior to her death. With everyone in fancy dress, Dee Dee is touched when she receives a heartfelt gift from Maddox and, left confused by Abigail, she wonders if she should perhaps be better of pursuing a future with her ex instead. Trina, who is also at the party, sets her sights on Maddox. Later, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) tells Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) that she wonders if Dee Dee might fancy Kathleen-Angel – but they’re unaware that Trina is in a cubicle nearby and has heard the whole thing. Trina makes a move on Maddox – and things take quite a turn later (Picture: Lime Pictures) Kathleen-Angel subsequently gets up and sings at the party, but Dee Dee is left hurt when she finds Maddox kissing Trina. Determined to get answers, she confronts the pair but Trina retaliates by suggesting that she fancies Kathleen-Angel. Defending herself, Dee Dee pushes over some candles – which accidentally sets Maddox on fire!
