The election results to five Legislative Council seats in Maharashtra have given hope to the opposition alliance of Maha Vikas Aghadi, and have jolted the BJP-led Mahayuti. The MVA won three seats, while the ruling alliance led by the BJP won two. The Congress hit the BJP where it hurt the most by winning the most prestigious Nagpur seat, the only seat it could win across all the States which went to polls.
