DC's Batman & Robin Movie Is Officially Delayed

Though there have been many Batman movies released over the decades, few of them have put Robin, his first and most well-known sidekick, in the spotlight. The last time this was done in live action was 1997’s Batman & Robin, while 2017’s The LEGO Batman Movie marked the last time the Boy Wonder shined in a theatrically-released animated movie. The latter dry spell will break in the coming years with Dynamic Duo, but moviegoers will have to wait a little longer for its arrival. Warner Bros. Pictures has officially delayed Dynamic Duo from June 30, 2028, to September 22, 2028. According to Deadline, this release date shift is because the studio “believes this will be a good back-to-school animated feature slot for not just K-12, but also teens and college kids.” Additionally, Warner Bros. reportedly believes Dynamic Duo “has the potential” to do well with the same kind of “crowd” that enjoys the Spider-Verse movies. As a result of this change to the theatrical calendar, Dynamic Duo will no longer go up against Paramount Pictures’ live-action Call of Duty movie. Instead, it’s opening on the same day as the “Untitled DreamWorks Animated Film” from Universal Pictures. Dynamic Duo’s new September 2028 release date was announced alongside Warner Bros. pushing Gremlins 3 from November 19, 2027, to October 6, 2028.
