DC Unveils Its Best Lois Lane Art Of All Time, Superman Fans Shouldn't Miss It

Published Oct 27, 2026, 6:30 PM EDT Adam has been writing in the entertainment news space for over a decade. Beginning his career of covering film and TV at CinemaBlend, he has also appeared on The Flash Podcast and done several radio spots. Lois Lane has existed just as long as Superman has, with both debuting in 1938’s Action Comics #1. The Man of Steel’s nearly-90-year history would look a lot different without Lois around, both in terms of her romantic dynamic with Clark Kent, as well as being one of The Daily Planet’s most valued journalists. There’s a reason why nearly every live-action Superman adaptation and animated project features her. These days in Superman’s corner of the DC Universe, Lois works as The Daily Planet’s editor-in-chief, succeeding Perry White, who’s now Metropolis’ mayor. In the midst of keeping busy running one of the world’s most esteemed print publications, she’s continued guiding her son Jon through his first years into adulthood, and has also briefly returned as Superwoman on two separate occasions following her initial stint with these powers during the DC Rebirth era. Post-DC K.O., Lois reverted to being a non-powered civilian. With the Kingdom of Zod crossover now over, a new Superman era is kicking off, and an upcoming issue from one of the character’s ongoing series features DC Comics’ best Lois Lane art yet. Lois Lane Looks Amazing In A Superman Unlimited #21 Variant Cover Superman Unlimited #21, Written By Dan Slott, Variant Cover Art By Angela Wu DC Comics Superman Unlimited #21 will be available in three covers when it’s released in January. Along with the main cover by Lucas Mayer and a variant by Belén Ortega, there’s the above variant by Angela Wu depicting Lois Lane in the middle of a ridiculously busy day at The Daily Planet. With newspaper pages and sticky notes flying about, and her fellow employees running left and right, Lois is keeping her cool at her desk. This is Lois still in full investigative reporter mode, with her press badge on, a phone in one hand, and a pen in the other, all while being dressed quite snazzily. While there have been a lot of great Lois illustrations over the decades, this captures the spirit of the character perfectly. Though her relationship with Superman is important, Lois is always at her best when she’s on the grind for The Daily Planet talking with sources and writing articles that expose the truth and keep the public informed. Superman Unlimited #21 Will Be An Important Issue For Jon Kent DC Comics While Lois looks stunning on Wu’s Superman Unlimited #21 variant cover, it’s unclear how much she’ll factor into the issue itself. Instead, this story will focus on the “vision” powers that Superman and Jon, a.k.a. Tomorrow Man, have, which will come into play when facing something that threatens to destroy National City. These events will lead to Jon gaining a new superpower that Clark and other people with Kryptonian genetics don’t have. In addition to Superman Unlimited, Lois maintains a regular presence in Action Comics and the main Superman title. Alternate versions of the character can be found in Absolute Superman and the Black Label series Superman: The Stranger. The former is part of DC’s popular Absolute Universe imprint, and the latter reimagines Superman’s earliest adventures in the late 1930s. Looking further into the future, Rachel Brosnan will reprise the DCU franchise’s Lois in the upcoming DC movie Man of Tomorrow, which arrives in theaters on July 9, 2027. Then in 2028, Lois and Superman will celebrate their 90th anniversary. It remains to be seen if fans will hear more of Alice Lee’s Lois Lane from My Adventures with Superman, as there’s been no word yet about if the Adult Swim animated series will return for season 4. Superman Unlimited #21 will be released Wednesday, January 27 by DC Comics.
