The assembly of a superhero team is the ultimate landmark for major comic book franchises like Marvel and DC across every media format and continuity. These massive events are always worthy of a blockbuster movie or an animated series finale, as the moment the world's most powerful heroes pool their unique powers to face an extinction-level threat rewards fans like nothing else. James Gunn and Peter Safran's new DCU is gradually laying the foundations for a future Justice League event. Previously, the DCEU famously fumbled this milestone when it rushed into a team-up movie after only introducing a couple of major characters. Correcting this strategy, the new DCU slate explores rare corners of DC lore first and allows dozes of different characters to earn their connections naturally over time. When the Justice League finally unites, the team's arrival will have the cultural impact it deserves. Parallel to the DCU, DC Comics is doing something similar in the Absolute Universe, where characters like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, and Martian Manhunter have received significant critical acclaimed on their own before crossing paths in a crossover event. DC Officially Announces Absolute Justice The Absolute Universe's Biggest Heroes Assemble Next Year At New York Comic-Con 2026, DC Comics has confirmed the upcoming release of Absolute Justice, a five-issue crossover miniseries that finally assembles all the main heroes of the critically acclaimed Absolute Universe. The miniseries is penned by Absolute Superman writer Jason Aaron, who's also writing the upcoming Hal Jordan miniseries Green Lantern: The Dying of the Light. Illustrating the comic is Juan Ferreyra, known for his work on Absolute Superman and Detective Comics. The first official glimpse at Absolute Justice is the official cover for Absolute Justice #1, which features Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, the Flash, and the Green Lantern Jo Mullein all gathered together. Martian Manhunter materializes above his human host, while Wally West moves so fast he appears as four separate people, and Jo Mullein's chest glows green as she activates her Green Lantern powers.
