Wonder Woman is the third pillar of DC Comics alongside Batman and Superman, beint a leader figure for the Justice League of America and an irreplaceable part of the DC Trinity. Diana of Themyscira is a beacon of hope for Earth as much as the Man of Steel, and she's a master tactician just like the Dark Knight. Besides, she's a diplomat among superheroes and one of the few DC titans capable of attaining feats of power on the level of Superman himself. Wonder Woman entered pop culture legend quite early in her history, largely due to Lynda Carter's iconic television performance during the 1970s. This early breakthrough instantly established the Amazon Princess as a mainstream superhero icon and a household name, though, despite her TV show success, it took her decades to finally appear on the big screen. Likewise, Wonder Woman has been visibly absent from solo animated series, live-action movies and shows, and video games that constantly keep Batman and Superman at the forefront. After staying in the shadow of Batman and Superman in the comic book medium itself, DC finally dedicates a whole year to giving Wonder Woman the love she deserves. DC Announces "The Year Of Wonder" For Wonder Woman DC Is Overhauling Wonder Woman's Mainline Comics DC Comics declares 2027 the "Year of Wonder," with a year-long celebration comprised of creative milestones crafted by acclaimed comic book creators. Written by Louise Simonson and illustrated by Cian Tormey, Wonder Woman #41 is slated to kick off the festivities with a four-issue story arc that's set to introduce a new status quo for Diana of Themyscira in the mainstream DC Universe, where she will face the restrictive Amazon Safety Act, an initiative meant to clear a path for her exiled sisters to return to Man's World. After generations of persecution and isolation, many Amazons show extreme reluctance to reintegrate into human society since some factions have completely abandoned faith in humanity's capacity for redemption. The upcoming Wonder Woman arc also introduces unexpected alliances, featuring investigative reporter Lois Lane in a key role alongside the apocalyptic forces of Granny Goodness and her Female Furies. Once Louise Simonson and Cian Tormey complete their introductory tale, Eisner Award-nominated writer Stephanie Williams and artist Elena Casagrande assume creative control for a six-issue arc, featuring a team-up between Diana and Queen Nubia. Outside mainline Earth-0 continuity, DC spotlights Wonder Woman's classic stories with a curated Get to Know! Wonder Woman collection on DC Universe Infinite, which offers fans free access to six essential comics that span multiple eras of Diana of Themyscira's legacy. Get to Know! Wonder Woman's retrospective anthology highlights includes contributions by Tom King, Daniel Sampere, Greg Rucka, Nicola Scott, and Phil Jimenez. To celebrate eighty-five years of Wonder Woman history in the "Year of Wonder," DC also sets up a bronze Wonder Woman statue at 3400 Warner Boulevard.
