Finding a new project as popular as Bones was a tall order, but Boreanaz came close with SEAL Team, a show that's now finding some impressive success on Netflix. The action thriller show currently ranks as the ninth most popular series on Netflix worldwide and the seventh most popular when just looking at the U.S. David Boreanaz's SEAL Team Is Dominating Netflix Created by Benjamin Cavell, SEAL Team premiered on CBS in 2017, introducing Boreanaz as Jason Hayes, the leader of Bravo Team, which sits under the SEAL Team Six umbrella. The action-packed series, which also stars Neil Brown Jr., A.J. Buckley, Toni Trucks, and Justin Melnick, depicts the high-stakes missions Bravo Team undertakes, as well as the toll these missions take on the team's family members. SEAL Team ended in October 2024 after seven popular seasons. The show averaged almost 10 million viewers during its initial broadcast on CBS, making it a hit, but it would go on to find renewed success after becoming Paramount+ streaming exclusive. Serving as a remake of the 1970s show of the same name, the upcoming series stars Boreanaz as James Rockford, a newly paroled private investigator who finds himself in trouble with the law and organized crime as he attempts to put his life back together in Los Angeles. Also starring Jaden Boreanaz, Kirk Bovill, Carson Rowland, Michaela McManus, and Jacki Weaver, The Rockford Files is targeting a release in January 2027 on NBC. It remains to be seen whether the upcoming show will find a level of success similar to Bones or SEAL Team, but Boreanaz evidently has the resume to suggest it could be another win.
