DaRon Bland says he's all the way back after two frustrating, injury-riddled seasons

Published July 30, 2026 02:06 PM Cowboys cornerback DaRon Bland set an NFL record with five pick-sixes in 2023. But he hasn’t been the same player since. Bland suffered through injuries in both 2024 and 2025, but he now says he’s finally healthy after foot surgery in January.Bland described himself as “full-go” for training camp and said he can be the same player he was before.“It was very frustrating, because it was also my first ever injury,” Bland said, via Tommy Yarrish of DallasCowboys.com. “And to be able to miss games like that, it was real frustrating trying to get back on the field. I’m always one guy that’s always trying to push himself to be better. It’s hard to take that step back sometimes.”Bland missed 10 games in 2024 and five in 2025. He has a total of just one interception in the last two years after having 14 interceptions in his first two NFL seasons. He says he’s in a different place now than he was while fighting injuries.“I’m confident right now,” Bland said. “This whole rehab, I’ve had no hiccups like last time. It feels way stronger.”That’s good news after two frustrating seasons.
