Daraga in Albay equips 54 barangays with rescue vehicles

The Daraga local government unit turns over rescue vehicles to 54 barangays to strengthen their capacity to respond to emergencies and disasters without relying solely on the MDRRMO. —Photo by Michael B. Jaucian DARAGA, ALBAY, Philippines — Fifty-four barangays in this town have been equipped with rescue vehicles worth a total of P78 million to improve emergency response and disaster preparedness in their communities. The vehicles, funded through the Local Government Support Fund (LGSF), were blessed by Rev. Fr. Tony Cial and turned over Friday (Sept. 4) during a ceremony at the Municipal Nursery in Barangay Gabawan led by Mayor Vic Perete and Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. May these rescue vehicles serve as a symbol of our continuing commitment to protect lives, strengthen disaster preparedness, and provide faster and more effective emergency response to the people of Daraga,” he said.
