Why Daniel Radcliffe Has Reservations About Son Becoming an Actor (Exclusive)Daniel Radcliffe’s son gives him every brilliant thing he could ever want. After the Harry Potter alum scored a Best Lead Actor Tony nomination for his starring role in the Broadway show Every Brilliant Thing, he shared that his and longtime partner Erin Durke’s son gives him plenty of bullet points on his own personal list. “My list of brilliant things is entirely composed of things my son says or does right now,” Daniel mused in an exclusive E! News interview at the Tony Awards Meet The Nominees event in New York May 14. “We’ve all agreed that if there was a sequel to this play it would be that the characters have children and the thousands of good things that happen when you’re with them.” And his 3-year-old’s manner of speaking just might be at the top of that brilliant things list. “My son’s weird accent, I’d say is a brilliant thing because he’s obviously pulled between me, English and the rest of who he knows, which is American,” Daniel explained, “and so he’s just got this great, weird little voice. You can never predict how he’s going to say a word. It’s really pretty great.”In addition to his and longtime partner Erin’s son, the 36-year-old detailed why the one-man play itself—which follows the protagonist making a list of hopeful things about life to invigorate his depressed mother—is also on his list, especially for the show’s token audience participation. “It’s both thrilling and stressful,” he continued. “It’s honestly the reason I wanted to do the show ‘cause it’s a way of relating to an audience and just relating to a large room of people that I really rarely get. So the chance to just run around and connect with everybody before the show in that way is really cool.”TheStewartofNY/WireImageDaniel will continue his Tony-nominated run through May 24, at which point he’ll pass the baton to Law & Order: SVU’s Mariska Hargitay.
