Arnold was released last month after being arrested on armed robbery and kidnapping charges. Head coach Dan Campbell addressed the decision to part ways with the 2024 first-round pick when he spoke to reporters at a Wednesday press conference. “It stinks. You never want to let go of a player — especially somebody that you’ve been around for a while here and you drafted and all that, and it’s unfortunate,” Campbell said, via Eric Woodyard of ESPN.com. “But we made the move we felt was best for us.”Rock Ya-Sin, Roger McCreary, Ennis Rakestraw, Khalil Dorsey, Nick Whiteside, and fifth-round pick Keith Abney are in the mix for playing time alongside D.J. Reed at corner. Campbell said the Lions feel “very good” about those options.
