Dakota Fanning's dark fantasy continues its streaming domination with an impressive milestone. Fanning started her career really young, with the actress' first role coming only at 6 years old in ER. Since then, Fanning has appeared in many movies and TV shows, finding incredible success with franchises and standalone releases. On the big screen, the actress was part of the hit vampire movie franchise Twilight, which adapted Stephenie Meyer's book series and starred Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner. Fanning played Jane, a powerful vampire who was part of the frightening Volturi family, in three Twilight movies. Also on the big screen, the actress appeared in major projects like Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Denzel Washington's The Equalizer 3, Steven Spielberg's War of the Worlds alongside Tom Cruise, and many more. That said, in recent years, Fanning has found impressive success on streaming through a series of global hit TV shows, most of which came from the thriller genre, which suits streaming services' popular binge model well. However, Fanning has now found success on streaming not through new series, but the dark fantasy movie Coraline, which just hit a colossal milestone for the fan-favorite actress. Dakota Fanning's Coraline Refuses To Slow Down On Streaming Coraline has just passed 200 days on Amazon VOD's Top 10 Movies chart in the United States. That is quite impressive for an animated movie that was released in theaters all the way back on February 6, 2009. Fanning's dark fantasy movie is based on the 2002 British novella of the same name by author Neil Gaiman, who was behind Netflix's hit fantasy series The Sandman. Coraline currently stands as the 2nd movie that has spent the most time on Amazon VOD's Top 10 Movies chart, losing only to Sydney Sweeney's The Housemaid, which is at 209 days against Coraline's 202. However, Fanning's animated movie ranks higher than Sweeney's R-rated psychological thriller on Amazon VOD's chart, as it recently climbed to 18th, above The Housemaid at 22nd. The fact that Coraline continues to climb on the streaming chart instead of losing steam after more than 200 days in the Top 10 is quite an impressive feat, especially since the movie is now only a few years away from its 20th anniversary. As Fanning's Coraline refuses to slow down, it has left behind recent movies like Hugh Jackman's The Death of Robin Hood, Pedro Pascal's The Mandalorian and Grogu, Guy Ritchie's In the Grey, and more. Fanning Has Been On A Streaming Tear Of Late Image courtesy of Netflix Coraline is only the latest streaming hit for the actress, as Fanning's recent TV shows have all found global success on different streaming services. On Netflix, she starred in Ripley and The Perfect Couple, two thrillers that either lit up the streamer's charts or were met positively in 2024. Ripley holds an 86% critics' score on Rotten Tomatoes and was nominated for five Emmys, including Fanning for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. As for The Perfect Couple, the star-studded thriller series debuted as the most-watched Netflix show worldwide. Playing the key role of Jenny Kaminski in Peacock's limited series All Her Fault, Fanning not only starred in another successful thriller, but one of the biggest in recent memory. All Her Fault has become the biggest original series launch in Peacock history, with 46 million hours watched within its first three weeks of availability on the streaming service. Based on all those factors, Coraline's successful run on Amazon VOD just continues the incredible streak Dakota Fanning has been on for the last couple of years.
