| GameCentral News Writer Published October 27, 2026 3:37pm Updated October 27, 2026 3:37pm Daft Punk is back (Lego) One of the most influential electronic dance groups of all-time are making a comeback… as Lego minifigures in an exciting new fan-designed set. In 2021, French electronic music legends Daft Punk announced that they would split and since then they’ve kept their word, despite many attempts to convince them to return. This includes Rockstar Games apparently offering them an ‘unlimited budget’, in order to be part of the soundtrack for Grand Theft Auto 6. That didn’t work but what has brought them back into the limelight is the chance to be the focus of a new Lego set, which has just been announced via a neon-coloured teaser trailer. The actual set hasn’t been revealed in its entirety yet, and it’s not out until sometime next year, but the trailer features the duo in their Encore outfits from the Alive 2007 tour. You can get a good idea of what the final set will look like because it’s based on a Lego Ideas design, which was created by fans and is inspired by the pyramid stage from the Alive 2007 tour. Lego Ideas is behind many of the more adult themed sets, including Downton Abbey and The X-Files. The idea is that fans create their own models and then vote on which ones they think are the best. The ones with the most votes are put before Lego and if they’re chosen, they get turned into a real product, that the designer gets a small cut of the profits from. In this case, that’s a father and son team from Luxembourg, who will also feature in the instruction book for the set. ‘This all started as a creative escape during lockdown between my son and I because of our shared love of Daft Punk and Lego building. We never dared imagine it would take off in this way,’ says Patrick Harboun. ‘Watching our passion project become part of an official collaboration is an incredible experience, and it’s a reminder of what makes the Lego Ideas community so special. That a simple idea, shared by fans, really can become something much bigger.’ The designs often change quite a bit between the initial fan design and the final commerical product, in order to make it more robust and practical, but the image below still gives you a good idea of what to expect. The original fan-made design (Lego) In the trailer you can hear the songs Voyager, from Daft Punk’s 2001 Discovery album, and Human After All from the titular 2005 album. That means the final set will probably be filled with Easter eggs and references to their full body of work. Intriguingly, Lego has said that the collaboration with Daft Park will extend beyond just the set itself and will see the duo, ‘brought to life in new ways across the Lego brand, through a mashup of surprising events and content that crosses music, culture and creative spaces.’ What that means exactly isn’t yet clear, but it does suggest that 2027 is going to be the biggest year for Daft Punk fans since the pair split up.
