Her father Mesut Serac, who was badly injured in the blaze, managed to pull his wife and two of his children from the burning vehicle – as well as several other passengers. Harrisons Terrifying CCTV footage shows flames engulfing the bus at the barrier as onlookers watch in horror. “I spoke to her father and he is in no state to talk at the moment,” relative Kasim Serac said. “He pulled five or six passengers out by their feet. “They are a family of five, the mother, father and three children, and they live in Istanbul.” Most read in The Sun He added that passengers struggled to escape as smoke billowed inside the bus and the doors failed to open. “There were other children next to Mesut’s children and he was trying to save them too,” he said. “They hit the window again and again but could not open it. “When somebody finally opened the window from outside, the bus was already full of smoke and they could not see anything. “He saved everyone he could, but sadly his daughter burned inside.” Mesut was later discharged from hospital and went to the Forensic Medicine Institute to provide a DNA sample. A family friend added: “A family has been destroyed. “Her father will not recover from this easily. “He saved six or seven people and he is still blaming himself, saying, ‘I couldn’t save my daughter’.” The second victim was a 54-year-old woman.
