Dad, 54, ‘drugged and raped female employee, 22, on his yacht just hours after wife and toddler son left’

A FORMER US Navy commander is accused of drugging and raping a young female employee on his yacht hours after his wife and son left. After his family left the boat, Williams allegedly told her to “put on a dress” as he wanted to go “somewhere nice”, per the police report. She told cops that when her employer saw her in the dress he said: “Wow, you look amazing,” which is when she began to suspect something was wrong. Williams allegedly told her he didn’t want his wife knowing they were going out for dinner. He later commented that he “always wanted to make a move” on one of his wife’s friends, the report said. The victim claimed that Williams made a string of sleazy comments throughout the night, calling her “sweety” and saying: “You’re my sugar mommy tonight”. She said that he asked her to pick up this bill as he didn’t want his wife seeing the transaction. After they left the restaurant, Williams allegedly withdrew $500 (£370) from a cashpoint and gave it to her, even though the dinner cost half that. The victim claimed that he then pestered her to go out for a drink, and was still “very persistent” when they got back to the boat. Williams allegedly made a rum drink and the pair went upstairs, where she reiterated she didn’t want to be near him. She told police that after consuming the drink she became very dizzy and lost her vision, despite only having one drink at the restaurant. She said that Williams then put his full body weight on top of her before raping her, the report states. During the alleged assault, Williams held her down while she said “I’m your employee, please get off me”. She said he then took her to his bed where she lost consciousness as soon as her head in the pillow. The woman noticed signs of sexual assault on her body when she woke up, prompting her to leave the yacht immediately, per the report. She called her boss Max Shapiro, the owner of the Nantucket Launch Company, who she worked for on another job and asked to speak to him. Shapiro reportedly connected the victim with the lodging-for-deckhand work opportunity aboard Williams’ yacht. When they met up, she allegedly told him that Shapiro woke up “naked and bleeding” in Williams’ bed. She told him that he set her up with the gig, to which he allegedly replied: “Why are you telling me this? Get to work, are you clocked in?” The report states that Shapiro then told her to “clock out and go home”, before she ended up quitting the Nantucket Launch Company. He had denied the woman’s retelling of their conversation. Shapiro told the New York Post: “The recap of the conversation on the dock is not at all accurate. “I know there is an active police investigation, and we are supporting the investigation in every way possible. “I am not going to comment any further out of respect and concern to [the victim] and the investigation.” After quitting, the victim said she left the dock crying and called her dad to pick her up because “something bad happened on the boat”. She underwent a sexual assault exam at Nantucket Cottage Hospital, which later came back “positive for male DNA“. Williams was placed under arrest at an undisclosed time and charged with three counts of rape and indecent assault and battery on a person over the age of 14 stemming from the alleged rape on August 9. The Florida native has tied to the US Navy and was previously commander of the USS Springfield submarine. He was being held on a $50,000 (£36,900) bond, but his lawyer Tom Kokonowski said on a Tuesday hearing that his wife was bringing the money to Nantucket. Comment now
