GTA 6 Leaker Promises No More Leaks Unless Rockstar Activiates "Dead Man's Switch" Rockstar Published Oct 14, 2026, 9:43 AM EDT Josh Coulson is an editor at TheGamer covering breaking news on everything from colorful platformers to the latest Lego sets. Primarily a news writer since 2018, Josh has covered just about every major game from the past decade. Now an editor, their focus has shifted to being the leading affiliate expert at the site, building relationships between TheGamer and global brands including Mattel, Funko, and The Pokemon Company. GTA 6 has been subjected to numerous leaks courtesy of one source - a person, or more likely a group, that goes by Cyberleek. With a little more than a month to go until the game’s release, and following the group’s 20th leaked clip, Cyberleek has claimed they’re done, provided Rockstar never finds out who they are. Cyberleek Is Done Leaking In an update to their followers, shared by GTA 6 Countdown, Cyberleek confirmed that the latest leak will be the final time they share any unauthorized footage from the game. The leaker claims they have the ending of the game ready to share with the world, but after careful consideration, they have decided not to leak it since that would feel more like punishing the players than Take-Two, the latter of which has, supposedly, been their goal. “CL has the ending. It was considered. It would punish Take-Two greatly - but ruin the experience for the gamers, who did nothing wrong,” Cyberleek writes in their, presumably final, update. “Take-Two was punished enough. The ending stays unpublished,” Cyberleek goes on, noting that the proof is in the final clips they’ve shared, claiming they are out-of-context looks at GTA 6’s final story mission. Cyberleek’s statement continues, adding that they will not share any story spoilers unless Rockstar or Take-Two pursues and discovers them. The leaker reiterates claims that there’s a “dead man’s switch” that will trigger should Rockstar catch up to them. That means, if they’re caught, the switch will go off, and those promised GTA 6 story spoilers will be revealed to the world. Story Spoilers And The Playable Build Are Safe, For Now Rockstar You might recall that, during this last batch of leaks, Cyberleek promised story spoilers were coming. The person, or group, has changed its tune not just because it claims it doesn’t want to punish GTA fans, but because it didn’t reach the $30 million goal it set for that playable build to be shared. They add that sharing a 200GB file would have also been incredibly risky, hence the high price tag attached. This whole thing has, in part, been a way for the mysterious Cyberleek to make money, quite a lot of it. Just not enough as they wound up hoping for. The leaks have been hiding behind a rather obvious crypto scheme, requesting those invested enough in what Cyberleek has to show to pay for the opportunity to vote for what gets leaked next, and to do so using the leaker’s own cryptocurrency. Ultimately, $30 million was too big of an ask, even for story details about what will likely end up being the biggest game of all time. The leaks will hopefully now end, and the focus can be on the game itself until its launch on November 19 and beyond. That’s unless Rockstar still wants to take Cyberleek down. If it does, we will find out if those dead man’s switch threats were rooted in truth, or just a deterrent to try and stop the GTA studio from hunting them down as they did to the last person who leaked footage from GTA 6.
