NewsKids can pick up free backpacks and school supplies Cuyahoga County's annual Family Fun Day on Aug. 11 at Public Square.(Advance/SILive.com | Annalise Knudson)By Kaitlin Durbin, cleveland.comAdvance Local Express DeskCLEVELAND, Ohio - Cuyahoga County will host its annual Family Fun Day on Aug. 11 at Public Square, offering free school supplies and resources to families in need.The back-to-school event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the Green, will distribute bookbags and school supplies on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Children must be present to receive supplies.More than 65 county, educational and community service agencies will also provide resources at the free event, which also features games, face-painting, music and entertainment.Originally created to promote Child Support Awareness Month, the event has become an annual summer tradition serving hundreds of Cuyahoga County children. One in five children in Ohio are involved in the state’s child support program, organizers said.The event will take place rain or shine.
