The Cubs announced that right-hander Edward Cabrera has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a right middle finger blister. Shortstop Dansby Swanson has been placed on the 10-day IL with a left oblique strain. Infielder James Triantos has also been optioned to Triple-A Iowa. In corresponding moves, the club has recalled right-hander Javier Assad and outfielder Kevin Alcántara, in addition to selecting the contract of infielder Owen Miller. To open a 40-man spot for Miller, right-hander Daniel Palencia has been transferred to the 60-day IL.
