The pair - who were rescued early on Friday morning - were discovered near a village located in the Central Kalimantan province on the Indonesian part of Borneo, with Gadis suffering painful lacerations caused by the trap tearing 'deep into her flesh'. Both are now receiving medical treatment at the Orangutan Foundation International clinic near the village of Pangkalan Bun. A conservation official said Gadis was found injured, with 'ropes tied' around her arms. They said: 'Gadis was found with the ropes tied to her upper right arm and lower left arm, and the wounds were bad because the ropes had torn deep into her flesh.'It looked like the ropes were set up as a wild boar snare trap.' But Gadis and Garis's rescue comes as dozens of orangutans have also been recovered in recent weeks from rampant wildfires burning across Indonesia. Two more were released in Ketapang, West Kalimantan, on Saturday after being rescued from an oil palm plantation.
