All the details about Shattered Legends, the new Critical Role x Hololive Daggerheart series Critical Role will return to its roots for new official campaign featuring Hololive Image: Critical Role/Hololive Announced in October, Shattered Legends is an upcoming miniseries featuring Critical Role and members of Hololive Production. Critical Role founders Matt Mercer and Marisha Ray will team up with Hololive’s Nerissa Ravencroft, Mori Calliope, Shiori Novella, and Gigi Murin for a new adventure set in the world of Exandria, where the Critical Role story began with Campaign 1: Vox Machina. Shattered Legends will premiere on Nov. 13 at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET on Nerissa Ravencroft's YouTube channel and on Critical Role's streaming platform, Beacon. The six-episode actual play show will use the rules for Daggerheart, the tabletop role-playing game designed by Critical Role's publishing studio, Darrington Press. Mercer will take the role of Game Master, while Ray will sit on the players' side of the table along with the Hololive crew, helping them navigate a treacherous new adventure in Exandria. Critical Role x Hololive Shattered Legends story and cast revealed Image: Critical Role/Hololive Shattered Legends is set in the Shattered Teeth archipelago, located southeast of Tal'dorei, the continent where the first Critical Role campaign, Vox Machina, takes place. The adventurers will explore the island of Ubradar, and more specifically a mysterious location known as the Undermaw, "a massive sinkhole with an unknown darkness sealed below," according to a news release. If this reminds you of the popular anime Made in Abyss, the similarities don't end there. In the Shattered Teeth islands, time flows differently than in the outside world, just like in Made in Abyss' eponymous giant hole in the ground. The characters and classes for each of the players in Shattered Legends have also been revealed. Marisha Ray plays tidekin witch Florence, "a moon witch of the sea who believes she guides the souls of lost sailors to the afterlife of the Sister Divas." Nerissa Ravencroft plays elf rogue Siliul 'Sil' Faeli, "a noble turned rogue and skilled tracker seeking refuge on Ubradar." Mori Calliope plays infernis bard Kaz Oogod, "the last of the Oogod clan, a young musician with a 'world-changing instrument.'" Shiori Novella plays fungrin druid Marchen 'March' Rosemyne, "an orphan searching for the Huntsman she lives with, aided by her connection to nature and a network of mushrooms." Finally, Gigi Murin plays faerie seraph Giryn, "a devoted follower of Mother Liopé on a mission to spread the Enclave’s teachings and witness the nature of life and death." The Hololive cast members will appear with new virtual avatars based on the spectacular design of their characters, as seen in the presentation video below. Mercer and Ray will appear in the flesh, even if many fans are complaining this was a missed opportunity to give them a virtual avatar. Shattered Legends will not end with the six-episode miniseries. A promotional tour will hit conventions in North America, Europe, and Asia, starting with a panel at Anime Frontier in Fort Worth, Texas, on Dec. 5. If you miss Tal'dorei and the setting of the adventures of Vox Machina, or if you're just curious to see how a group of cheery VTubers will react to Mercer's evil Game Master shenanigans, tune in to Shattered Legends when it premieres on Nov. 13.
