Cricket legend’s glamorous daughter lands new ‘dream’ broadcasting job and makes sidelines debut

THE daughter of cricket legend Matthew Hayden made her TV debut presenting Australian rugby league action this week. Grace Hayden, 24, took up the microphone for the first time since joining broadcaster Fox League. The former batsman spent 15 years as an Aussie cricketer and was part of its golden era between 2000 and 2008. His daughter will be covering a different sport to the one her father played but said the new role was a “dream”. She said before the first broadcast: “Honestly, this is the dream gig for me. “I’ve always loved rugby league. I’m loving throwing myself in the deep end and hopefully swimming.” When asked if she was nervous, Grace added: “I always think nerves are a good thing. She added: “Farm girl and city girl all in one – and loving every minute of it.” Fox League posted a clip of Grace giving her opening report by the sidelines. They wrote in a caption: “Welcome Grace, the newest member of the Fox League family.” The glamorous reporter is a rising star in the broadcasting world, with 780,000 followers on Instagram. Her father Matthew was one of the most dominant batsman in Australia’s history after scoring a world record of 380 runs against Zimbabwe in 2003. He scored 8,625 Test runs and held a 50.74 batting average across 103 matches. Hayden also won back-to-back ICC Cricket World Cups in 2003 and 2007 and was a four-time Ashes winner. Comment now
