Police producing the accused in an online betting racket before the media at Kadiri in Sri Sathya Sai district on Friday. | Photo Credit: BY ARRANGEMENT The Kadiri sub-division police of Sri Sathya Sai district on Friday (October 9, 2026) busted an online betting racket linked to the illegal gaming app IPLWIN and arrested six people on charges of providing bank accounts for transactions.Superintendent of Police S. Satish Kumar said that the police seized ₹6,77,400 cash, six cell phones, one laptop, and nine passbooks of A.P. Grameena Bank.The SP said that the operation was led by Deputy SP (Kadiri) Sivanarayana Swamy, Inspector B. Venkateswarlu and Sub-Inspector K. Babajan. On credible information, the team nabbed the gang at 2.30 pm near Cheruvu Katta locality in Kadiri town.The arrested were identified as Paran Jabeer Khan (24), Akula Ganesh (24), Dandagala Vijay Kumar (24), F. Maulali (28), Chintamanu Ganesh (26), and Devishetti Manoj (25), all from Kutagulla area in Kadiri.Prime accused (A1) Paran Jabid Khan, (A2) M. Dwarkanath Reddy, (A3) Indra Teja, and (A4) P. Anil Kumar are absconding, and a special team has been formed to track them down, the police said.Police said A1 to A4 created a Telegram channel, Priiya, with a +84 number and lured youth promising easy money. They collected bank accounts, linked them to IPLWIN, routed money as instructed, and paid ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per lakh commission every Monday.The SP stated that after their own accounts were blocked, they used family accounts, paying ₹5,000 per passbook, but kept the account holders in the dark about the transactions. Seized devices contained Telegram chats. The SP cautioned the public against sharing bank details for commissions, as they would be liable for illegal transactions.
