It may not have been the largest, containing only seven songs, but The Offspring's "All I Want" and its infamous "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" are synonymous with the game. At Gamescom this year, I was given the opportunity to sit down with Crazy Taxi legend Kenji Kanno and, naturally, being a massive fan of the original, I had to ask about what we could expect from the soundtrack for World Tour, to which he told me there was "one giant surprise". Crazy Taxi: World Tour Director Teases A "Giant Surprise" For Upcoming Game's Soundtrack Sega Alongside my time with Kanno, I got to play 30 minutes of Crazy Taxi: World Tour's Germany-inspired level. It didn't take long for "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah" to hit my eardrums, and I knew I was going to be all in on the game. We already kind of knew The Offspring and Bad Religion would be in the game this time around, so I asked Kanno how much planning went into it, and if it was a conscious decision to keep things feeling similar to Sega's 1990s classic. “I always had a plan for the soundtrack, and I also heard different voices of stakeholders asking me, 'Will there be Offspring? Will there be Bad Religion?’” he tells me. “That's the reason why I chose to stick with this kind of music." It seems that much of Sega's internal employee base wanted the soundtrack to stay the same, so we have them to thank. But Kanno, knowing how enthusiastic I was about Crazy Taxi's musical feel, couldn't help but drop a big teaser for what's in store. "On the soundtrack, there will be another giant surprise I cannot reveal right now, but please look forward to the information coming out. I'm sure everybody will be like, ‘Oh!’” he exclaims with a grin. On the soundtrack, there will be another giant surprise I cannot reveal right now. My hands-on preview of World Tour from Gamescom is now live. I loved my time with the game, and said, "Crazy Taxi: World Tour is shaping up to be everything I wanted from a new Crazy Taxi game. It takes everything that made the original so special, and modernizes it in a way that makes things more fluid and dynamic for newer audiences." My interview with Kanno will be live in full later today. Released 2027 Developer(s) Sega Publisher(s) Sega Multiplayer Online Multiplayer Cross-Platform Play Full Genre(s) Racing, Action, Adventure
