'Coyote vs. Acme' Officially Gets Streaming Release Date

Discovery unceremoniously shelved the animated/live-action hybrid film in 2023 for a tax write-off, the media giant eventually reversed course amid widespread backlash. Warner Bros. let the filmmakers seek other distributors, and Ketchup Entertainment acquired the rights to Coyote vs. ACME in March 2025 for $50 million. The movie finally debuted in theaters on Aug. 28, 2026, earning widespread critical praise while grossing a solid $80 million worldwide. While Coyote vs. ACME is still in theaters, we now know when it will first hit digital on Amazon Prime Video. The film will be available on Sept. 29, 2026, at midnight EDT. Pre-orders are currently up, with a purchase price of $24.99 on Prime Video and Apple TV. In recent years, it has become relatively commonplace for movies to become available digitally while they’re still in theaters. What is Coyote vs. ACME about? Coyote vs. ACME centers on a fed-up Wile E. Coyote who, after decades of failing to catch the Road Runner, decides to take the ACME Corporation to court. With help from personal injury lawyer Kevin Avery, Coyote sues the company for selling defective products. From this somewhat ridiculous premise, many critics say the film becomes a genuinely compelling legal drama about corporate overreach that parallels the movie’s own difficulties with Warner Bros. Dave Green directed the film, with a screenplay by Samy Burch. James Gunn and Jeremy Slater developed the story alongside Burch. It stars Will Forte (Saturday Night Live) as Kevin Avery, with Lana Condor (To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before), John Cena (WWE), and Luis Guzmán (Wednesday). Coyote vs. ACME is the latest Looney Tunes movie, following 2025’s The Day the Earth Blew Up and 2021’s Space Jam: A New Legacy.
