COSMIC Epoch 1.8 Provides Latest Fixes & Minor Improvements For This Rust Desktop

Released overnight was the newest version of the Rust-based COSMIC desktop environment developed by System76 as part of the effort on their Pop!_OS Linux distribution. COSMIC Epoch 1.8 isn't their most exciting release and comes just two weeks after COSMIC Epoch 1.7. As such, it's mostly fixes this time around as well as some translation updates. In digging through the code changes for COSMIC Epoch 1.8, there is some minor work like the COSMIC Compositor now allowing XWayland windows to start in a minimized state. The COSMIC Shell also now supports tablet grabs and some other improvements on the tablet handling side. Meanwhile with COSMIC Settings is the ability to now rename connected Bluetooth devices. But aside from those few feature changes, it's mostly fixes this round. Those building the COSMIC desktop from source can find the new version up on GitHub.
