Lucy is the daughter of Tim’s cousin Richie who is accused of killing his wife – just a week on from making his Weatherfield debut. Sign up for the TV newsletter Thank you! The death of his wife and his subsequent arrest leaves Lucy vulnerable and she is taken in by Tim and Sally. Now, ahead of her dramatic scenes airing this week, Lucy has broken her silence on signing up to the soap. Her first scenes will air this week Credit: ITV Her arrival comes as part of the soap’s new murder plot Credit: ITV Posting a snap outside of the Rovers Return, she wrote on Instagram: “I still can’t quite believe I get to say this, but I’m so grateful to be joining the cast of Coronation Street! “This has been such a blessing, working alongside the most beautiful people, and getting to live out a dream I’ve had for so long. “Some dreams really come true don’t they?” Her co-star Lucy Fallon was quick to comment on the post as she gave a huge hint that she was sharing a dressing room with the new girl as she wrote: “YAAAAAAAYYYY ROOMIE!” Most read in TV Fellow Corrie actress Sydney Martin said: “Can’t wait to watch you shine sweet girl.” Meanwhile, Tony Maudsley sang her praises as he commented: “And you are a DREAM casting!! What a wonderful job you’re doing, Anya!! “Welcome aboard!! Roll on Thursday!! HERE COMES LUCY!!!” In upcoming scenes, fans will see Lucy at the centre of the drama. Richie is arrested for killing his wife after turning up at Tim’s house in a blood-spattered top – having just confessed to various marital problems. He tells the police that he killed her in self-defence – something which is bound to raise eyerbrows. As such, the police decide they need to place Lucy into the care system. But Tim reveals he will take her in – without consulting Sally. Their house is already rather full after they decided to take care of Joanie, Shanice and Brody following their parents imprisonments just last year. But it looks like this week is just the start of the drama for now-motherless Lucy. Comment now
