Coronation Street shock return as star who ‘disappeared’ over a year ago is back amid horrifying Kit cancer twist

A CORONATION Street actor who has been missing off screens since last year is set to return as a heartbreaking cancer storyline begins. Actor Stan Rawlings has appeared on the ITV soap since 2022 but has been missing from screens for almost 18 months. Actor Stan has played a part in huge Corrie storylines including show icon Roy Cropper (David Neilsen) suffering a suspected heart attack after getting taunted by youths and Alya Nazir’s (Sair Khan) horrific stabbing in a racially motivated attack. The character was last seen on screen in June 2025 when local teen Brody Michaelis (Ryan Mulvey) was taken to hospital and needed urgent medical attention after suffering a seizure. However, Stan’s character is set to return in scenes in airing next week. It’s thought that he will appear as part of Kit Green’s (Jacob Roberts’) cancer storyline. Upcoming scenes will see the police detective confide in Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) that he is going for a CT scan after suffering from a series of worrying symptoms that he suspects could be cancer. Kit will then be left devastated when he is diagnosed with male breast cancer in scenes due to air later this month. Kit’s new storyline was revealed last week, and comes after he and his family find out that they may be carrying the familial BCRA gene. The family immediately face testing as Kit, his mum Bernie (Jane Hazelgrove) and half sister Gemma (Dolly Rose Campbell) all seek medical help.
