Coronation Street reveals the smoking gun that will ‘seal’ Sarah’s devastating fate

Police stormed Coronation Street in tonight’s episode and finally made an arrest in Theo Silverton’s murder case, and it’s bad news for Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien). Viewers know that Sarah killed Theo earlier this year, after a confrontation on top of the scaffolding outside his flat. As he threatened her, she lashed out with a metal pole, and he was knocked over the edge and to the ground below. In the immediate aftermath, she called Gary Windass (Mikey North) for help. He urged her to head home, making sure she was spotted to give herself an alibi, while he dealt with the rest. What neither of them anticipated was that Sarah would be attacked by Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown) and taken to hospital. While, at the time, this seemed to be the perfect alibi, it would prove to be her downfall in tonight’s scenes. Sarah revealed the truth to him earlier this month, much to his horror, and he has been doing all he can to keep the police off her trail. In tonight’s episode, he was certain that Gary would be getting a visit from the detectives – until Sarah dropped another bombshell. She explained that the police had taken her clothes for evidence after her attack, and that they were still being held. Kit promised to find out if they had been tested yet, as they could put her in the frame for Theo’s murder. Following Sarah’s interview, DC McLaughlin shared her theory of the crime with Lisa, insisting that she believed Sarah killed Theo by accident accident, but that Kit must have covered it up.
