Coronation Street pays touching tribute to Stephanie Cole after star’s sad death

CORONATION Street has paid tribute to former show star Stephanie Cole after she died aged 84. Stephanie, who is best known for playing Sylvia Goodwin between 2011 and 2013, died on Saturday morning after living with Alzheimer’s disease for several years. Maria Connor actress, Samia Longchambon wrote: “Very saddened to hear this. Stephanie was a brilliant actress and a wonderful lady x.” Tracy Barlow star Kate Ford added: “I loved working with her, she was brilliant and super kind x.” And Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in Corrie, posted: “Adored by everyone in Weatherfield, and beyond. Stephanie was awarded an OBE in 2005 for services to Drama, Elderly People, and to Mental Health Charities. Her agent John Grant, on behalf of her family, described the comedy star as an “extraordinary talent”. His tribute read: “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephanie Cole, OBE. “She passed away this morning at the age of 84.
