Coronation Street confirms blistering Jodie and Shona showdown as the truth explodes

For some apparently yet to be explained reason, Jodie has been scheming, lying, collecting a random selection of weird belongings in a secret trinket box, making her sister think she is suffering a mental health breakdown and repeatedly trying to snare David Platt (Jack P Shepherd). Bored, maybe? Despite having come up against some right wrong ‘uns in her time, including in her own family, Shona (Julia Goulding) has been giving her sociopathic sibling the benefit of the doubt. Jodie continues to hang around like stenches from Gail’s annexe but it might be time for her to be thrown out with the scalding bath water when Shona walks in on her pawing herself over David. Shona catches Jodie red-handed – there’s no explaining away this one (Picture: ITV) Her clamber into bed to trick David was seemingly not enough to unmask her true colours but this time there’s no denying it – Jodie does not have Shona’s best interests at heart – and it’s payback time! A searing look of rage etched on her face, Shona will loom towards Jodie and warns her to back out of their lives – or else. Knowing Jodie, she isn’t about to heed any warning, so it looks like the ‘or else’ is on the menu, indicating a dramatic showdown in the episodes ahead as the storyline reaches a dramatic height. Actress Olivia teased: ‘Jodie has convinced herself that David symbolises her potential for future happiness. She’s lost the plot a little bit and truly believes David is the answer to all her wants and needs.
