Feldman had an extraordinary string of major feature roles in 1984, 1985, and 1986, consisting of notable roles in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter, Gremlins, The Goonies, and Stand By Me. Subsequently, this launched his career and led Feldman to become one of the most recognizable young stars in Hollywood. But these early projects were not Feldman's first experience acting in major productions alongside icons and legends. Rather, Feldman had been landing smaller opportunities in TV and film since 1978, steadily working his way up to landing leading roles. And while he managed to secure these opportunities at a younger age than most Hollywood actors, he still had to develop his skills as a performer, with non-speaking roles and other minor bit parts. A Young Corey Feldman Appears In Cheers Season 2 This was the case when Feldman, at just 12 years old, landed a role in the then-up-and-coming TV series, Cheers, as they entered into their second season. Feldman successfully managed to land a part in one episode, where he played a young baseball player who appeared with the rest of his team and their coach during season 2, episode 8, "Manager Coach." This episode aired in 1983, just one year before Feldman's career began to take off with his incredible run of feature films. And despite playing a relatively minor role in a single episode, it remains an impressive credit in his illustrious career, further establishing the caliber of projects that he was capable of appearing in. But of course, Corey Feldman was not the only actor who appeared on Cheers prior to having major breakout success. To some extent, Cheers almost feels like an incubator that nurtured some of the most incredible talents of its time, with dozens of incredible performers appearing in the show over the years. Other Actors You Forgot Were In Cheers Of course, there are plenty of actors who came out of Cheers with their careers forever changed. Namely, the central cast of the show ended up becoming household names, and each went on to pursue other roles as their career evolved, and the show got further and further in the rearview. But there are also several celebs who appear in the series that fans are likely to have forgotten about. Christopher Lloyd, whose career was just taking off thanks to his role as Reverend Jim Ignatowski in Taxi, played a character called Phillip Semenko in two episodes in 1984. This, of course, came years before his biggest role, when he played Doc Brown in the Back to the Future films. Several years later, in 1990, Cheers brought one of the most famous game show hosts of all time, Alex Trebek, to play himself in a special episode where Cliff Clavlin appears on an episode of Jeopardy, hosted by Trebek himself. In 1982, Christopher McDonald played a character named Rick Walker in a single episode of Cheers almost a decade before his breakout role in Thelma and Louise. There are similar stories for several other well-known actors, including Lisa Kudrow of Friends fame, Jennifer Tilly, who is best known for her role as Tiffany in the Chucky franchise, Emma Thompson, who went on to win an Oscar a year after appearing on Cheers, and another a few years later. Evidently, Cheers has a spectacular record for featuring incredible talent, from child actors to Academy Award winners and beyond. All of that being said, despite the age of the show, it's well worth revisiting this incredible series, and being transported to another era of Hollywood, one where everybody knows your name.
