Cops scrambled to Manchester Airport after person ‘gets onto airfield’ – as seven flights diverted and 17 held in air

A MAJOR airport was forced to divert seven flights after an individual reportedly got onto the airfield prompting mayhem. At least 17 planes were held in the sky at Manchester Airport after the person breached security by entering the prohibited space. One flight from Cape Verde had to be diverted to East Midland Airport because of the incident. Another flight arriving from Morocco was redirected to Birmingham Airport. The airport has reportedly since gone back to normal and a temporary fix has been put in place. Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for comment.
