Cops hunt firebomb maniacs after week-long arson rampage through Scots towns

DETECTIVES have launched a manhunt after four cars were firebombed less than two miles apart. Thugs torched the motors in two Lanarkshire towns in a nine-day wrecking spree. Two other motors were targeted in nearby Reid Street at around 3.40am six days later. Sign up for The Sun newsletter Thank you! The maniacs left a Mini and a black estate car burnt out. Shocking footage showed both vehicles ablaze as fire crews arrived to put out the flames. Pictures later revealed the charred wrecks of the cars with the estate’s bonnet lying mangled. Meanwhile, officers are hunting two masked suspects over another car attack in Ivy Place, Blantyre, at 11.40pm on August 2. Police said the suspects were dressed head-to-toe in black. They were spotted pushing a bicycle around the time of the blaze. Last night, Police Scotland confirmed inquiries into all three attacks remained ongoing. Detective Constable Stuart Adams said: “I am appealing to anyone who was in the area to think if they noticed anything suspicious or unusual. “I would also appeal to any motorists with dash-cam to check their footage for any images which could assist our investigation. “Any information could prove relevant.” Comment now
