Measuring at four wavelengths, the system enables automated DNA and RNA concentration and purity assessment, including A260/A280 and A260/A230 ratios. Its micro-cuvette technology supports fast and non-destructive in-process measurements, allowing samples to be recovered while increasing walk-away time and automating data handling. The eviFluor Duo Fluorometer brings fluorescence-based dsDNA quantification directly onto the automation deck. HSE•AG’s application data demonstrate its suitability for automated NGS library quality control, with measurements showing strong agreement with a benchtop reference fluorometer and consistently low coefficients of variation.Together, these technologies can help laboratories automate critical quality-control steps that have traditionally required manual pipetting, separate benchtop instruments, and manual data transfer.Expanding Integrated Laboratory AutomationAs part of the agreement, Copia Scientific can integrate HSE•AG products into complete laboratory automation workflows, including solutions built around Opentrons liquid handlers, NAYO A8 mini, other compatible third-party automation platforms, laboratory software, and custom Copia automation solutions. This integration capability allows laboratories to incorporate in-process measurement into broader automated workflows, supporting data-based automation within the workflow, rather than treating quantification as a separate, manual step. For NGS applications, for example, HSE•AG’s technologies can support quantification at multiple points in the sample preparation process. UV absorbance provides rapid, label-free DNA quantification and purity assessment following extraction, while fluorescence-based measurement offers the sensitivity and specificity needed for library quality control. By integrating these measurements directly into the automated workflow, concentration data can also be used to enable automated sample normalization, reducing manual handling and supporting consistent sample preparation for downstream processes.“Copia Scientific and HSE•AG bring complementary strengths to this partnership: HSE•AG’s precision in nucleic acid quantification and Copia Scientific’s proven capabilities in automation, integration, and customer support. Together, we’re enabling North American labs to integrate accurate, on-deck measurement directly into their existing workflows,” said Konstantin Lutze, Chief Technology Officer of HSE•AG.Integration and Support from Copia Scientific Beyond product distribution, Copia Scientific will provide customers with installation, application assistance, preventative maintenance, warranty coordination, and first-line technical support for HSE•AG products sold through Copia. The agreement also establishes Copia Scientific as the preferred service provider for HSE•AG products sold through Copia Scientific within the territory.By combining HSE•AG’s on-deck measurement technology with Copia Scientific’s automation and integration capabilities, the companies aim to help laboratories reduce hands-on processes, improve data integrity, maximize walk-away time, and create more efficient end-to-end workflows.Products not for use in diagnostic procedures.Copia Scientific provides laboratory equipment, automation, integration, service, and application solutions to life science laboratories. Through its portfolio of new and certified pre-owned laboratory equipment and its specialized service, integration, and method development capabilities, Copia helps laboratories build, optimize, and support workflows tailored to their research and operational needs. www.copiasci.comAbout Hombrechtikon Systems Engineering AG (HSE•AG) In today’s rapidly evolving life sciences landscape, HSE•AG emerges as a leader in technical consulting and engineering services, offering extensive expertise in designing and industrializing automated solutions tailored to the complex demands of molecular, protein, and cell biology analyses.
