Coolmore’s Sussex Stakes tactics will play right into the hands of Billy Loughnane on Bow Echo

Not that this is a two-horse Sussex, with Opera Ballo a player for Godolphin and Ten Bob Tony possibly trying to show his Queen Anne success was no fluke. ITV Racing gets underway with a handicap for three-year-olds over 1m4f. HATTEEN absolutely bolted up off 82 at Doncaster last time when stepped up to this trip and I suspect he’s been laid out for this by Andrew Balding. He once chased home the Group class Point of Law in a Newbury maiden so even though he’s now up 6lb there is every chance he can score again off just 88. Oisin Murphy on top is a plus and of course he’s owned by Qatar with a big backing of this meeting. There’s a conditions race for juvenile fillies over 5f. WILD BLOSSOM stands out for me. Her win at Carlisle first time was expected by many, being a 300,000gns breeze-up and half-sister to Bayside Boy. Her tenth in the Queen Mary was better than it looked as she was third of 11 in her group although her finishing effort was not as good as one would have wished. I suspect she’s much better than that and Wathnan is another group targeting the Qatar meeting. James Doyle rides for Karl Burke. Up in class for the Group 3 Oak Tree Stakes over 7f. SAYIDAH DARIYAN is surely hard to keep out the frame at the very least for Richard Hughes and Ryan Moore. The 107-rated filly was third in a Listed race at Newmarket behind the re-opposing Flora of Bermuda before finishing ninth to Almeraq in Group 1 company at Royal Ascot. I suspect she’s going to love going up to 7f and this might be her day. A big one for youngsters in the Group 3 Molecomb over 5f. I see no reason why PERSHAADA can’t run huge for Richard Hannon and Sean Levey. The filly was fourth to Victorious in the Queen Mary and showed she liked this course when winning her novice at the track. The Queen Mary might not be the greatest juvenile form we will get this season but she’s bang in the mix in this. Good luck!
