Sharpe, 56, has now been jailed for life with a minimum of eight years after he pleaded guilty to six offences including kidnapping, sexual assault and threats with a blade. Minshull Street Crown Court heard the local radio DJ put the girl in a headlock and forced her into a car on May 18 at around 7.30pm. Sharpe claimed a relative owed him money then drove to an airport car park before tying the girl up. He moved around different car parks in the area and forced her to drink alcohol before sexually assaulting her. Police launched a probe after the teen was reported missing and trawled through CCTV. After identifying Sharpe’s car, they tracked him to a hotel car park in Knutsford, Cheshire – around seven miles from where the girl was last seen. Most read in The Sun In a police interview, the killer claimed he was “feeling bad” and believed it would be easier to kidnap a child rather than an adult. Sharpe also told officers he intended to release her when it got light and then take his own life. He claimed his motives weren’t sexual, but admitted to being aroused after smelling his victim’s feet. Sharpe was previously convicted of murdering his partner, 28, in 2000 after she threatened to break up with him. CPS spokeswoman Hannah Gee said: “In this terrifying incident the victim was held captive for eight hours while Sharpe forced her to drink alcohol and sexually assaulted her. “Sharpe gave no thought to the impact his actions, for his own depraved reasons, would have on his victim. “Although his guilty pleas today have spared her from the ordeal of a trial, I would like to thank the girl and her family for supporting this prosecution and ensuring this dangerous offender is back where he belongs.”
