Commanders put Ahkello Witherspoon on reserve/retired list

The Commanders confirmed the signing of Fabian Moreau on Tuesday morning and they also announced that another veteran cornerback has decided to call it a career. Ahkello Witherspoon was placed on the reserve/retired list in order to make space for Moreau on the roster in Washington. Witherspoon signed a one-year deal with the Commanders in March after spending the last three seasons with the Rams. He also played with the Steelers after opening his career as a 2017 third-round pick of the 49ers. Witherspoon had 243 tackles, 13 interceptions, a forced fumble and three fumble recoveries in 96 career regular season games. He also had 14 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble in eight playoff contests.
