Coding Agents Evolved. Our Repositories Didn’t.

The evolution of coding agents like Codex and Claude Code has revolutionized how developers use AI for software development, shifting from manual code snippets to more integrated, automated workflows. However, this advancement hasn't been matched by updates in repository management, leading to bloated, unwieldy files that compromise code maintainability and scalability. These oversized AGENTS.md files not only hinder the efficiency of AI-assisted development but also risk undermining the benefits these tools offer. This disconnect highlights a critical need for modernizing our repositories to keep pace with the rapid evolution of coding tools.
