Joseph Vijay has sanctioned ₹10 crore for hosting the Chennai Open International Women’s Tennis Championship 2026 (WTA 250).On Tuesday, representatives of the Tamil Nadu Tennis Association (TNTA) met the Chief Minister at the Secretariat to discuss the conduct of the tournament. The delegation included TNTA president Vijay Amritraj, CEO Hiten Joshi, tournament coordinator P. Prasanth, and honorary secretary N. Venkatesh.According to an official release, the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT), in association with the TNTA, will host the Chennai Open International Women’s Tennis Championship 2026 (WTA 250) in November.The tournament is expected to feature some of the world’s leading women’s tennis players and further enhance Tamil Nadu’s profile on the global sporting stage.Minister for Public Works and Sports Development Aadhav Arjuna, Chief Secretary M.
