Clift Farm hosting inaugural 5K, fun run in September

The Madison city limits are across the highway.Scott Turner/AL.comBy Scott Turner | sturner@al.comClift Farm is inviting runners, walkers and families from across Madison and surrounding communities to lace up for the inaugural Clift Farm Classic 5K & Fun Run on Saturday, Sept. 12.The races will begin at 8 a.m. at the Village Green at Clift Farm.The event will feature a USATF-certified 5K and a family-friendly 1-mile fun run, giving participants of all ages and abilities an opportunity to get active and enjoy a morning at Clift Farm.“We wanted to create an event that brings people together and gives our community another reason to spend a Saturday morning at Clift Farm,” said Joey Ceci, president, Breland Companies, in a news release. “The Clift Farm Classic is about much more than running. It’s about getting outside, having fun with family and friends, supporting our local businesses and creating a new tradition for the city of Madison.”Participants will receive a custom race shirt, finisher medal, prizes and giveaways. The event will also provide an opportunity to experience the restaurants, retailers and services located throughout Clift Farm, with participating businesses offering special promotions and activities surrounding race day.Early packet pickup will also be available on Friday, Sept. 11, from 3-6 p.m. at the Village Green at Clift Farm.Participants who register by Sept. 1 are guaranteed a race shirt in their selected size.
