Kim Tate is in trouble in upcoming scenes (Picture: ITV) Kim Tate (Claire King) faces horror in Emmerdale this week, and not just because it’s Halloween. The first scare comes when she learns from Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) that Baby Tate has been kidnapped and held to ransom. Desperate to keep Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) in the dark and the police out of the loop, she enlists Thea Ramsden’s (Chelsea Edge) help on the downlow. ‘Joe doesn’t know anything about it, so she can’t go to Joe, because she and Graham aren’t supposed to have the baby in the first place. She’s very reluctant to involve the police because obviously Joe would find out,’ actress Claire King explained. ‘She does confide in Thea, and she’s hoping that she can trust her, and tells her likewise, “Please can you keep this between us for the moment?” Thea then tells her, “I will, unless it escalates to the point where I have to let my fellow policemen know”.’ Things do escalate, with Kim receiving ransom demands from the kidnapper via a tablet which set her mind racing. She tells her what’s going on, the noises, the bangs, things like that. Then Kim suddenly thinks “oh my Gosh, it’s Thea”.’ Kim confronts Thea and presses her to confess, but when Thea loses her temper, Kim tries to flee. In a panic, she’s thinking “I am going to get hurt”. She just happens to stumble across a sharp cheese knife, and in her panicked state, she stabs Thea.’ Kim’s confrontation with Thea Ramsden ends in disaster (Picture: ITV) According to Claire, the situation leaves Kim in ‘total panic mode’. Desperate to find out the truth about Baby Tate’s abduction, she pushes Thea to admit where he is. However, when Thea accuses Kim of trying to sell the baby, Kim realises that she’s telling the truth about not being involved, and the situation only gets worse as Thea passes out. ‘She doesn’t know whether she can save her or not. Obviously, if something happens to her, the worst case scenario, she dies, Kim could end up back in prison,’ Claire pointed out.
