The panel discussion starting at 12:30 pm on September 10 brings together stakeholders to identify safety gaps and develop community-led solutions to protect children MANILA, Philippines – Concerned about your child’s safety and how you can ensure a more secure environment for them? Watch the live panel discussion as Rappler’s civic engagement arm MovePH launches “Civic Circles: How can we keep our children and schools safe?” This will be streamed on Rappler’s YouTube channel live from the Rappler Civic Hub in Pasig City on Thursday, September 10. Organized in partnership with CyberGuardiansPH and Mental Health Youth Hub, this pilot initiative tackles rising school violence and digital risks by turning community discussions into concrete, multisectoral solutions. Rappler head of community Pia Ranada moderates the conversation with key decision-makers and child protection advocates: Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte shares local government strategies on community governance, child protection policies, and campus safety. Police Capt. Wallen Arancillo, spokesperson for the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, addresses online grooming, cyberbullying, and digital protection in off-campus hotspots. Dr. Princess Gairanod, child protection specialist from the Philippine Pediatric Society, discusses student mental health, psychosocial care, and health safeguarding protocols.
