Cindy hits upon a shock discovery in EastEnders as she digs for Max’s secret lover

What has she discovered? (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) unyielding search to find out who Max Branning’s (Jake Wood) secret woman is leads her to another discovery next week in EastEnders. Cindy and Max’s break up has been as deliciously messy as everybody knew it would be, and her dark side certainly re-emerged when she discovered that her husband of twenty minutes had been cheating with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy). Declaring war on both Max and Priya, Cindy’s campaign paid dividends when she successfully drove Priya out of Walford after discovering that the baby she’s carrying is Max’s, and later told Max she was coming for a share of everything he owns. Equal parts wounded and incensed by what Max had done to her, Cindy decided to make use of their honeymoon. Surely she shouldn’t miss out on some sun, sand and sangria because Max is a dirty dog who seems utterly unable to keep it in his pants? She’s back next week, though, and their feud is set to reignite almost instantly. Cindy comes home with a toy boy (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Returning with a toy boy, Rafael (Daniel Garcia) on her arm, it initially seems that the trip away has done Cindy the world of good – she’s refreshed and in a much happier place, though her confidence is dented when her debit card declines. Max, meanwhile, fresh off trying to sweet talk Suki Panesar-Unwin’s (Balvinder Sopal) into flogging No.31 to him, steps in and agrees to support Cindy financially. At the flat they once shared, though, Cindy’s more focussed on the lipstick she’s found and becomes single-minded in her bid to discover who it belongs to and who Max is seeing on the down low. She focusses on digging for information, first confronting Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa), before learning from Gemma Hawkins (Patricia Potter) that Max is planning to buy No.31, then scoping out Oscar Branning (Pierre Counihan-Moullier) for any tea he may posess. Later at the Vic, Cindy and Max descend into another almighty clash, and upon returning home, she fires up the laptop they’d shared, and her jaw drops at what she finds on there. Reeling Lauren into her plot by sharing the information about a secret property of Max’s in New Zealand with her, the two scupper Max’s viewing of No.31, with Suki deciding to go with a different buyer, causing Max to declare all-out war on his ex. Cindy wants answers (Picture: BBC/Jack Barnes/Kieron McCarron) Both turning to Oscar, Max asks for help proving his marriage to Cindy was never consummated, while Cindy shares drinks with him, and what he tells her only adds fuel to the fire of her suspicions, and her mind starts to whir. With Max sweating and the HMRC breathing down his neck, Cindy believes she’s on to something, and with more questions than answers, she confronts Max. But what dark theory is going around in Cindy’s head? And has she got enough to nail Max?
